Agent frameworks
Ollama
Ollama runs open models on your own computer. You pull a model and chat with it, or call it from other tools on localhost.
- local models
- self-hosted
Every tool on this page is flagged open source in the directory. The page leaves out hosted products and anything whose listing says the license is not standard open source. n8n can be self-hosted, and it is on the workflow guide for that reason, not here.
Alphabetical groups are not a ranking. Several of these still need an API key for a model even though the agent itself is open source.
Ollama runs a model on your computer. Whisper transcribes audio with no hosted product. Aider, Cline, OpenCode, and OpenHands are coding agents you run, usually with a model you choose. Continue was acquired by Cursor; its open-source code remains available. Activepieces, Dify, and Flowise are servers you host. Letta keeps agent memory. Browser Use's open-source library is Python, and its cloud SDK also supports TypeScript.
n8n can be self-hosted under its own license. It is on the workflow guide, not in this open-source list.
Ollama serves a local model. Whisper transcribes audio locally.

Voice
Whisper is OpenAI's open source speech recognition model. You run it yourself to transcribe audio, with no hosted product attached.
You bring the repository and, in most cases, the model. OpenCode can also use free models it includes.
Coding
Aider is an open source coding agent for the terminal. It edits a git repository with a model you choose and can commit the result.
Coding
Cline is an open source coding agent for VS Code. It reads the project, runs commands, and applies edits with an API key you provide.
Coding
Continue is an open source coding agent that Cursor has acquired. The Continue site says the open-source codebase remains freely available.
Coding
OpenCode is an open source coding agent for the terminal, a desktop app, or an IDE. It can run several agents on one project, and you can use the free models it includes or connect a model of your own.
Coding
OpenHands is an open source platform for software engineering agents. You can run agents locally or in the cloud and review their changes.
Activepieces, Dify, and Flowise are applications. Letta and Browser Use are frameworks you run in your own stack.
Ops and automation
Activepieces is an open source automation tool in the same family as Zapier. The core is free to self-host, and a paid cloud is available.
Agent frameworks
Browser Use lets an agent operate a real browser. The open-source library is Python, and the cloud SDK supports Python and TypeScript.
Agent frameworks
Dify is an open source platform for building AI apps and agents with a visual editor. You can self-host it or use Dify Cloud.
Agent frameworks
Flowise is an open source visual builder for model workflows. You connect nodes for models, tools, and data, then call the result from an API.
Agent frameworks
Letta, formerly MemGPT, is an open source platform for agents that keep memory over time. You can run it yourself or use the hosted service.
